Fruit of the Late Summer (Original, Signed and Framed)
Painting Size: 30cm x 42cm
Media: Windsor and Newton Artists Watercolours | Windsor and Newton Designers Gouache
I was inspired by a photograph taken by an Art Curator I follow on Instagram. When I saw the photo I had an immediate good feeling, I could almost smell the sweetness of the fruit. As with all my paintings it's the 'feeling' that starts the process for me. I was reminded of childhood, late summer picking fruit. There was an old orchard at the back of my house when I was was growing up. Plums, Damsons, Gooseberries, Apples, Pears, Blackberries grew there. I had a friend at the time and he and I used to stuff ourselves! I guess those sentiments combined, for me create a lovely feeling inside. One of both the past and the promise of a future full of potential.
In this painting I hope I have somehow captured this. The idea of a late summer afternoon. The scent of the fruit, that slight fermentation, sunlight slanting and the sound of bees in the open.
The cost includes exceptional quality framing, dry mounted (meaning the painting remains completely flat forever), art glass (thick UV reflective glass ensuring the painting doesn't fade), mounted and framed with the best materials. Close from Natural Oak, Limed Oak, Dark Stained Oak or White Washed Wood (my favourite!).
Of course, if you'd prefer to frame the painting yourself then the cost is reduced.
